THE LAKE
Hawley Lake is a 300-acre mountain lake on White Mountain Apache Tribal Land in eastern Arizona. At roughly 8,200 feet and surrounded by spruce, pine and aspen, it stays cool all summer, with calmer water than the desert lakes.
The lake is small enough to explore its shoreline, coves and fishing spots without crossing open water, which makes kayaking and paddleboarding on Hawley Lake relaxing for all skill levels. Stay in a nearby cabin or campsite for a longer trip. Rent your kayak or paddleboard at Redline in Mesa, about 4 hours from the lake.
PLAN YOUR TRIP
Hawley Lake is on White Mountain Apache Tribal Land. A White Mountain Apache Boat and Watercraft Permit is required, and anyone fishing needs a separate tribal fishing permit. Paid camping is available in designated areas with the proper tribal permit.
Hawley Lake Cabins rents furnished cabins with one to five bedrooms, sleeping about 2 to 14 guests. Most are a short walk from Hawley Lake or nearby Earl Park Lake.
Every rental from Redline includes paddles, life jackets, foam roof blocks and tie-down straps, and we help you load up. No roof rack needed. Rent 2 days and the 3rd day is free. See rental rates or read our rental FAQs.
