Booking and pickup

Do I need to book ahead?

You can book online or just walk in. Same-day rentals are welcome during business hours.

What are your hours?

Sunday to Thursday 7am to 5pm. Friday and Saturday 7am to 7pm.

How long is a rental?

Choose an 8-hour rental or a 24-hour rental that starts in the morning or the evening. It’s one flat daily rate, not hourly. Rent 2 days and the 3rd day is free.

What if I need to cancel?

Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice if you’re canceling.

Do you do groups?

Yes. Call or text 480-548-8921 for group specials and special requests.

Gear and transport

What’s included with my rental?

Life jackets, paddles, foam block roof racks, straps, pumps, fins and leashes. We help you load up before you leave.

I don’t have a truck or roof rack. Can I still rent?

Yes. We fit 6 paddleboards or 2 kayaks on any vehicle with our foam blocks and straps, and we load them for you.

Do you deliver?

For the Salt River and the lakes, you pick up at our shop in Mesa, 10 minutes from the Lower Salt River and 20 minutes from Saguaro Lake. We do drop off kayaks and paddleboards at private lakes and parks like Val Vista Lakes, The Islands, Dobson Ranch, Kiwanis Park, Tempe Town Lake and Desert Breeze Park. Call 480-548-8921 to set it up.

Can I take my rental out of state?

Yes. Just store it safely while it’s with you.

How much weight can a tandem paddleboard hold?

Our tandem paddleboards hold up to 600 lbs.

On the water

Kayak or paddleboard for a first-timer?

Sit-on-top kayaks are great for beginners and easier to climb back onto if you fall in. If you’re new, try a lake before the river.

Are there rapids on the Lower Salt River?

The only rapids are a small Class I to II set between Water Users and Pebble Beach. Stay to the right side of the splits there to avoid them.

I only have one car. How do I float the river?

Park at Granite Reef and paddle upstream, or use a rideshare to get back to your car.

Do I need a Tonto Pass?

Yes, for parking at most Tonto National Forest sites like the Salt River, Saguaro Lake and Canyon Lake. We carry them at the shop.

What should I bring?

Water, sunscreen, water shoes or old sneakers, snacks and a small cooler. Always wear your life jacket, and don’t mix alcohol or drugs with the water.

STILL CURIOUS?

We love talking boards.

Call or text 480-548-8921, or just walk in.
